You Are My North Star, When I Remember.

You Are My North Star, When I Remember.

Ulises Vargas

October 3, 2025.

I promise I didn’t mean it

I simply forgot, that’s all

Blame it on idiocy,

Not to keep you in mind;

In constant recall

Those other girls,

They’re only pretty

When I forget

That I have you and me;

Those dozens of pills,

Are only tempting

When I don’t think of we;

That tunnel, dry of hope,

Lures me in

If you’re not there

In my constant memory

I need your name

Tatted on my wrists

And the picture of you

Carved

Into the backs of my eyelids

Don’t you dare

Fade from my thoughts,

Or else I’m not sure

We can trust my judgments

I’ll stray;

I’ll lie,

Without the fear,

And love, of you

At the forefront of my mind
