“It’s Not Me; It’s Us” Ulises Vargas August 24, 2025 Everytime I get close again, she reminds me. Where were we again? Somewhere we weren’t supposed to be. A riske place of old pain Pray for us cause I’m hopeless without you involved Or hopeless when you keep coming and going Better never than ever Came at the right time Came at the thought of last time Our only time A love lost long ago Or it never existed Whomever persisted(it was me) Whomever been distant (its all you) Whomever kept consistent (it aint neither) Whenever he came over, your phone left the room No response to me either Say what we had is over We both know it aint true Red rose gift, stamped between paper on the cover Rose red tint, taped around you Dancing the red tape Caution red lines we wrap ourselves in
The pen is my vulnerability. Mutual secrets line my writing. The poetry collection, “abstraction.”, is my most thorough yet. Check out abstraction.
